How to Laser Etch Photos

Laser etch use lasers to etch highly detailed graphic images onto materials such as wood, acrylic, coated metals, plastic, glass and stone.The process of laser etch consists of scanning the photo, converting it into a grayscale image and then transferring the image by laser onto the material.

1.
Scan the photo that you want to etch. Choose a high-resolution photo for optimal results.

Import the image into the graphics editor software. Modify the page size to match the size of the surface to be etch.

Convert the image to grayscale, and refer to your laser system's instruction manual on how to connect the laser system to your computer. Connect the laser system to your computer.

Refer to your laser system's instruction manual on where to place the item you want etch. Place the item inside the laser system and send the print job to the laser system to be etch.

Choose your print option from the laser menu and push the button to start the etch. Refer to your instruction manual on the correct print option for the material you are etch.
